Our next guest is Alejandra calling in from Guadalajara. Alejandra is a food columnist for The Gringo Gazette. The Gringo Gazette is a biweekly English only newspaper servicing Northern Baja and Southern Baja. Alejandra gives us an overview of the different regions and the different cuisines of Mexico. Plus she shares her recipes for cocktail sauce and avocado soup.
By the way, the word Avocado comes from a Nahuatl Indian (Aztec) word “ahuácatl” meaning testicle. It is thought that the reference is either due to the avocado's shape or the fact that it was considered to possess aphrodisiac qualities by the Aztecs.
